Quasi Daily Article: TMZ to DC

Let’s face it. Washington, D.C. has been trying land itself on the cool list ever since President Obama rolled into town. I mean, I’ll be honest–as a life-long Washingtonian, I was offended when all of the ‘media elite’ rolled into town Inauguration week and called us a “sleepy town” and other mean names.

Who elected this genius? Sen. Richard Burr (R- N.C) was caught by TMZ photographer driving a 1974 Volkswagen convertible in a snowstorm.  TMZ said Thursday it is looking to add another person to their one-man Washington team.

Washington has no reason to worry. We are officially cool.

If there is any doubt, it vanished with the visit of one man. Harvey Levin of TMZ made a surprise visit to Washington, proving politicians and lobbyists are cool enough to be covered by the popular FOX paparazzi program.

In an interview from his hotel, Levin said he is looking to expand TMZ Washington to two employees.

LOL, your so funn…CRASH

Doesn’t it scare the b’jesus out of you when the person driving the car your in responds to a text message?

According to an Associated Press article released this afternoon, drivers in Maryland will soon face a maximum $500 fine, no matter how good your friend says his sms skills are.

A similar bill was passed in the Maryland Senate, but differences regarding reading texts must be evaluated before a formal bill is submitted to Gov. Martin O’Malley.

So if you must, get your texting and driving in while you can.

The Quasi Daily Article of the Day

It’s not even 1 p.m. and I’m already publishing the second edition of the Quasi Daily Article of the Day? I must be crazy…or it must be that good.

New Scientist is running with a story that says sexual activity is linked to a person’s genes. The study of several twins separated at birth demonstrated a genetic link between age at which a person first engages in sexual intercourse and certain personality characteristics.

Who comes up with this? Can you imagine the meetings where people discussed doing this survey.

Bob the Scientist:  “I think we should study which factors determine when a person loses their virginity.”

Jen The Scientist:  “Go for it!”

I wonder, does Bob has any personal interest vested in this endeavour, or is it for the good of dorks worldwide..?

The Newest Feature: The Quasi Daily Article of the Day

I’ll be completely frank, I am not entirely ready to commit to this whole blog idea–which is why the newest feature, the Quasi Daily Article of the Day, will or will not appear, well, daily.

The article will be funny, or inspiring, or maybe even a tear jerker–to be honest, I can’t really say, I can’t really see what the future brings. With that said, here is the first edition of the Quasi Daily Article of the Day.
